Sometimes in counseling sessions, I sit and listen as some sisters share their frustrations.
They say the only men approaching them are unbelievers or married men. The serious, God-fearing single men are not coming.
And they wonder if something is wrong with them.
My sister, the kind of men approaching you does not automatically define your worth.
Some men approach simply because they see a woman. Not because they are qualified for you. Not because they are meant for you.
A married man approaching you is not a compliment.
An unbeliever pursuing you is not a sign that something is wrong with you either.
It simply means they saw you and decided to try their luck.
You must understand that attention and suitability are two different things.
Not every man who comes is for you.
Sometimes, God allows you see the wrong ones so you can strengthen your discernment and your boundaries.
Instead of asking, “Why are the wrong ones coming?” Ask yourself, “Do I have the wisdom and courage to say no to the wrong ones?”
Because the real issue is not who approaches you. The real issue is who you allow access.
The wrong men coming does not mean the right one will never come.
He will.
But until he does, guard your standards, guard your faith, and guard your heart.
Not every knock on your door deserves to be opened.
