ANY GOAL WITHOUT A DEADLINE IS ALREADY DEAD

If you desire to be married in six months or one year for example, you do not have any business with someone who is not dreaming marriage in three years. Every now and then, I get DMs from different people on this matter. One person is ready but the other person isn’t.

A question to ask each other before starting a relationship is “when do you INTEND to get married?”. It does help you to know if your goals align. If not, it is wise to let each other go and trust God for someone you don’t have to coerce into marriage.

This is not desperation! It is knowing what you want. Any goal without a deadline is already dead. As matter of fact, it’s a mere wish, not a goal. I’m writing this to help you know one of the things to consider before going into a relationship and to help you avoid wasting your own time by yourself.

It’s important to know what you want from a relationship and be with someone who wants the same. That way, it’s easy to walk together with fewer disagreements and compromise. It’s not okay for someone to compromise their goals or happiness in order to be with you and you shouldn’t do the same.
