I do not like to see relationships fail. Sometimes I stay awake into the night counselling dating/courting couples. When everyone is asleep, I’m there trying to rescue a relationship. I’m happy doing it though. But it cuts my heart when all efforts two people have been putting into their relationship goes down the drain because of an issue that can be worked on.
I feel indifferent about relationships that fail for good reasons. I mean obviously, such relationship shouldn’t continue. Disaster niyen. When a guy/lady comes to seek counsel and trying to tell me everything the other person is doing wrong, I try to remind them of the ones they’re doing right. No one is entirely bad, everyone has something good in them.
Relationship is demanding and that’s because it involves two different people with different expectations. If you were in a relationship with yourself, of course you can do whatever that pleases you. You can’t be dating/courting someone else’s son or daughter and all that matters to you is how you feel. Love is considerate and it puts the other person first.
Whatever your relationship is going through, if you can walk through it, please do. There are no hopeless situations, only people who have decided to give up. Relationship is even an avenue to inculcate virtues like patience, kindness, selflessness etc. Being in love is not only meant to excite you, it is also meant to help you grow. Your celebrity and power couple sef are not having it smooth.
So please, be willing to cooperate with each other. Make adjustments where necessary. It’s not about what you like, does your partner like the same thing? Does it communicate love and respect to them? Eez beg I’m begging you people oh. Lol. Except for reasons that may have negative impact on your marriage later, please learn to walk through your challenges. It’s part of the package.
