No Relationship Is Perfect

You saw your friends wedding IV and you’re wondering why it worked for them but is not working for you. Let me tell you this. They didn’t have it rosy to that point. They got intentional about making the relationship work. They’ve probably had numerous times they wanted to call it quits, you wouldn’t know of course. Pictures are perfect…

…but they’re not having it perfect, they’ve only decided to be together through it all. So stop wondering why your relationship isn’t working perfectly. It’s not anywhere either. Be deliberate about making yours work IF IT IS WORTH IT. Forgive, be patient with each other, be kind, be loving, sacrifice for each other. Do not leave all the responsibilities on the shoulders of the other person.

Protect your partner, protect your relationship. Be open to change. Speak well of yourselves. Speak well of your relationship to other people if you have to. Manage your issues well. You’re adults and Christians. Both of you cannot be hot at the same time. Love yourselves the way you want to be loved. No relationship is perfect. To think others are having it perfect is ignorance.

However, regardless of your imperfections, you can choose to enjoy your relationship. It doesn’t have to be perfect to be enjoyable. It’s a decision. Choose to enjoy your relationship. Choose to be happy together. Don’t wait for a perfect time to do that. No relationship coach/counselor can help you if you’re not intentional about doing the right thing.

Giving counsels is different from applying it. The Godly counsels we’ve been giving you all the while, what have you done about it? The books you’ve read, are you applying it? Nothing works until you make it work. Love relationships require a great deal of sacrifices and selflessness from both parties. Divine leading doesn’t guarantee automatic success. Play your part.
