5 REASONS WHY RELATIONSHIPS FAIL

There are lots of reasons why relationships fail but let me share some of it with you.

📌It is not God’s Will

When God wants to have mercy on you and reroute your path into His plan for your life, He may decide to end your relationship if it’s a wrong one. Some breakups have a wrap of different stories but God is the One at work. You may even cry and find it difficult to move on, it is still God at work! Our thoughts are different from God’s, same as our ways. You may think someone is good for you, other people may think the same, but God is the One who controls the affairs of our destiny!

📌Unrealistic Expectations

Expectations aren’t bad in themselves like I have always said. We all have it. We all have things we expect from life, from people and from a relationship. However, we must understand that some expectations are not realistic. The end of such expectations are premium frustrations. Unrealistic expectations can ruin your relationship. It has ruined many relationships. If you have an expectation(s) the other person is not fulfiling, perhaps it is unrealistic. And you’d have to either let go of that expectation or let go of your relationship.

📌Laziness

Someone reached out to me via WhatsApp to register for my mentorship program but I was surprised to see a voicenote. I mean, you’re chatting to someone for the first time and you’re not thoughtful enough to write instead. That’s mental laziness! This exactly is the same way a lot of people are lazy about working on their relationship, yet they want to see results. They admire relationships that are working and even wish for it but they’re very lazy. Relationship will stretch you. Nothing works until there’s someone ready to make it work.

📌Dating/Courting for too long

I have counseled people who had to end a 5 years relationship, some 7 years. Have you noticed that people who date/court for too long most times do not end up together? When your relationship/courtship becomes unnecessarily long, chances are that it will fail. To begin with, do not go into a relationship on the basis of ‘let’s see how it goes’. Be sure God would have you be with that person. Do your due diligence and take necessary steps toward getting married as soon as you can. You don’t need millions, use what you have!

📌Premarital Sex

When you’re done licking all the honey in the moon before the honeymoon, there’s nothing to look forward to. Premarital sex will not only ruin your relationship, it will drag you away from God’s presence. ‘I love you’ is not a license to kissing, romancing, touching and sex. Aunty, guard your gate! Uncle, stop asking for what is meant for a husband! You can be in a relationship without any form of sexual immorality. The reason you find it difficult to abstain is because you think it’s not possible. Your thoughts will always influence your behavior.
