Leaning unto your own understanding is the reason some of you find it difficult to know who to marry.
You have many suitors, beautiful ladies around you. Correct brothers and sisters. But you don’t know which one to choose.
The Bible says “LEAN NOT unto thine own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your path”. Proverbs 3:5-6
When you acknowledge God in your marital decision, He will direct your path. But when you don’t, how do you expect him to direct you?
The instruction is simple, follow it. Acknowledge God!
You’re SERIOUSLY busy checking out the person to know if they have the qualities you desire in a man/woman when you should watch and pray.
Watch and pray. Not watch and keep watching.
That person that has your desired qualities, complete package may be good but not good for you. They may not be a part of God’s plan for your life.
And when God speaks or directs you, it comes with convictions, series of confirmations and witnesses. I didn’t say confirmations from Prophets.
“As many as are led by the Spirit”….not by Prophets.
When God gives you a word or an instruction, He will keep confirming it to you. He will continue to add to your altar of convictions. He will continue to give you assurances.
“Once have the Lord spoken, twice have I heard”. You will continue to hear God concerning that relationship. Someone said he has about 60 convictions about his wife.
“Once have the Lord spoken, twice have I heard.” When God leads, He will keep leading you. He won’t lead you half way and go back.
You will be double sure. Your convictions will be well seated in the realm of your heart no matter the oppositions from the devil.
I have always said that whatever is of God, the devil will fight it tooth and nail. Sometimes, people will even fight it. Your friends will oppose it.
But IF YOU’RE SURE God is the one leading you, your victory is certain. Just don’t give up in the place of prayer and obedience.
Single and waiting on God? 
Be not wise in your own eyes. Acknowledge the One who knows all things and all men(women). Don’t lead yourself by your emotions, let God lead you by His Spirit.
