I facilitate a monthly program where newlyweds come to share the testimony of how they met their spouse and their journey from courtship into marriage. We’ve had 26 editions and one major thing I’ve observed is how that each of their stories are different. The way sister A met her husband is completely different from sister B’s experience. The journey into their marriage aren’t the same either. The experiences are not the same. This is what I’m trying to say. The most important thing is to be at the center of God’s will for your life. No one has the entire script. You can’t tell how God is going to connect you to your spouse and the things your relationship would have to go through into your marriage.Your love story may not be as intriguing as other people’s story. That’s fine. God’s plan is ultimate, not the storyline. As much as you covet certain things when reading other people’s love story, have it mind that yours may be entirely different. The process God will take your relationship through may be different. God has a purpose for each union and that purpose is birthed through a process. What you should focus on is God’s will for your own life. God’s plan and purpose for your marital destiny. You may even have to go through some breakups on your way into God’s original plan for your marriage. So, don’t beat yourself up because you’ve had a number of breakups. God is going to use everything around your life to motion you into His amazing plan. It may not happen for you the way you desire it but God’s plan for you is greater than what you planned for yourself. If it’s on your mind, it’s on God’s heart. Paul wanted to be in Rome, but not in a prison cell. He wanted to preach, not be a prisoner. Nothing was going the way he’d hoped. While everything seemed negative, Paul chose to see the positive. I encourage you to do the same. When we’ve had enough, God is enough.
